A Great Experience

It was my second time to visit the Oxford Elementary School. I've spent the whole time only in the auditorium. I was surprised at the class. Some of kids worked in the postoffice, some of kids worked in the hospital and some of kids tyied to find some dairy products in the suparmarket. We don't have such a class in my country. I thought the class will be very useful for the kids' future, because they can know how to work and how to buy in the school.
During the time, I was in the hospital and I supported the kids how to solve some problems. The problems were about calcium. Although the problems were very difficult for the kids, they made an effort and asked many questions to me and the teacher to solve those. I tried hard to support them and they solved all of those problems. I was happy because of their smile.
There were two things I was surprised. One is that the kids were very positive to solve the problems. They asked many questions to me and the teacher, and they worked very hard on the problems more than I thought. Another is that they followed what the teacher said in one time. I'm sure those kids will be great adults. As a result, visiting a school is very good experience for us and the kids because we can ecperience what American kids do in the school live not from a text book. The kids can also learn a variety of things from us. I would like to visit a school again and experience more and more.

Our Visit to INSIGHTS

It was a very good experience for us and the children. It benefits me because the experience was my first time to be in an American class. I knew the differences between Japanese schools and American schools. I could tell them about my friends and family in Japan. I think most of the children haven't been to Japan. It was great time to talk with us for them, because they could learn about our culture in the U.S. I was surprised at their attitude, because they asked us many questions. I was happy that they enjoyed to learn a Japanese game. There is one thing I was depressed about. The children didn't ask us about Japanese amimations. It made me a little sad, because I had thought they would ask us about it. This visit was an awesome experience. I would like to have a similar experience again.

School Highlights

The hightlights I liked when I was a schoolkid were same as typical American schoolkids. Those were recess, lunchtime and physical education. The reason why I liked those parts of school day were similar to American schoolkids. I liked to play with my friends during the recess, because I prefered playing with my friends to studing in a class room. I've really enjoyed during lunch time, because I love to eat. I liked physical education, because I like playing sports than studing. These are also tipically the fafvorite parts of school day in Japan and boys and girls have same answers I think. I would play ball games which are soccer or baseball etc.. on the schoolyard before a class bigin and during recess. Typical games for the shoolkids were the sports which I have done.

Book Fair

I went to Oxford Elementary School to see their book fair last week. It was very good experience, because all books are written in English. I could find some Japanese animation books. I knew Japanese animations are very famous around the world. I was happy to see Japanese things in foreign country. The book fair was diffrent from Japan. We don't have only book fair. In Japan, book fair is in festival. I think having a book fair is very good experience for children, because they can know how to buy and sell books in school. The experience will be useful when they go to shops. If I were a child, I would have been excited to find Japanese animation books. I think it is better to have such an event on weekend or holiday, because most of people are busy on weekday. To have that kind of event in school is very great experience to learn social life for children.

Comparison My University in Japan with The University of Mississippi

I'm going to compair my university in Japan with the University of Mississippi. There are two big differences between us. First, my university in Japan is in Osaka prefecture. Osaka is kind of second capital in Japan, so there are many public transportations and amusement facilities near the cumpas. Most of students go to a downtown for hanging out after classes. The University of Mississippi is in countryside compairing with my university. There aren't so many things to do around here. The students here go to a library or a cafe shop to study after classes. Second, assignment load is totally different in regular classes. We don't get so many assignments each class every time, but the students here get a lot of assignments, too much reading and writing essays, each class every time. Those are differences I feel.
